"The tests of the Hyundai i20 R5 went well, and careful enough. Ole Christian Veiby is supposed to start the Rallye du Var in this particular car, so our responsibility to avoid damaging the vehicle was tremendous.

Despite being cautious about my pace, I managed to get a good idea about the car. I really liked the engine and the braking behavior of the i20 R5. The car responds really well to changing the settings. I particularly enjoyed the company of the Hyundai Motorsport engineer, who helped us in our work with the car.

Sadly, we had to stop the tests due to heavy snowfall. Regardless of that, I enjoyed both the car and the Hyundai Motorsport Customer Racing team."

This weekend, Nikolay Gryazin and Yaroslav Fedorov are going to the start of the French Rallye du Var. Before the asphalt event, the Russian crew tested the Škoda Fabia R5 evo in Italy. The tests had originally been scheduled in France, but the SRT team had to quickly change the location due thick snow on the test track.

Despite the fact that the nature of Italian roads is not very similar to that of special stages outside Var, Nikolay and Yaroslav managed to check out the settings, try the ride height and dampers, and also get some mileage before the start. The Rallye du Var takes place November 21 to 24.
